Key Responsibilities and Duties
As an HV Electrician at TeamPro, you will be at the forefront of our electrical operations. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and safety of our high voltage infrastructure. Your primary duties will include:
- Performing intricate installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of high voltage electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Conducting rigorous diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on HV systems to identify faults, malfunctions, and performance issues using advanced electrical testing equipment.
- Reading and interpreting complex technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics for high voltage installations and modifications.
- Strictly adhering to and enforcing all national electrical codes, company safety protocols, and industry best practices for working on high voltage equipment.
- Executing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize system downtime and extend the lifecycle of critical electrical assets.
- Maintaining meticulous records of all maintenance activities, inspections, tests, and repairs for compliance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other team members to plan and execute electrical projects and system upgrades.
- Responding promptly and effectively to electrical emergencies and system outages, providing expert solutions to restore power safely.
- Installing and terminating high voltage cables, connectors, and associated hardware with precision.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to apprentice electricians and junior staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this high-voltage electrician role, candidates must possess a combination of formal education, relevant experience, and key skills.
Education & Certification
- A Graduation/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a valid Oman driver's license and relevant high voltage work permits/certifications is highly desirable.
- Certification in electrical safety, such as NFPA 70E or equivalent, is a significant advantage.
Experience & Technical Skills
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an HV Electrician, specifically working with systems above 1000V.
- Demonstrable expertise in high voltage system maintenance, including switchgear, transformers, and protective relays.
- Proficiency in using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, relay test sets, and circuit analyzer.
- Strong foundational knowledge of electrical theory, Ohm's law, and power distribution principles.
- Experience with preventative maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
