Hydrotesting Engineer (Oil & Gas Construction)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hydrotesting Engineer to join our dynamic team in Muscat, Oman. This full-time role is critical to our Oil & Gas Construction projects, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of hydrostatic testing procedures for pipelines, vessels, and related infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in hydrotesting, with a strong understanding of industry standards and safety protocols. If you are detail-oriented, technically proficient, and thrive in high-pressure environments, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive hydrotest procedures for pipelines and pressure vessels.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, API, etc.) and client specifications.
- Lead field hydrotesting operations, including pressure testing, leak detection, and system validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, safety, and project management) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor and document test results, providing detailed reports for quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing phases.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on hydrotesting best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in hydrostatic testing of pipelines, vessels, or related infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API standards.
- Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or relevant HSE training is a plus.
