Hydrotesting Engineer (Oil & Gas Construction)

Location: Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman | Job Type: Full-Time | Experience: 5-10 Years

Salary Range: 15-20 LPA

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hydrotesting Engineer to join our dynamic team in Muscat, Oman. This full-time role is critical to our Oil & Gas Construction projects, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of hydrostatic testing procedures for pipelines, vessels, and related infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in hydrotesting, with a strong understanding of industry standards and safety protocols. If you are detail-oriented, technically proficient, and thrive in high-pressure environments, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive hydrotest procedures for pipelines and pressure vessels.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, API, etc.) and client specifications.
  • Lead field hydrotesting operations, including pressure testing, leak detection, and system validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, safety, and project management) to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor and document test results, providing detailed reports for quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing phases.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on hydrotesting best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in hydrostatic testing of pipelines, vessels, or related infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API standards.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or relevant HSE training is a plus.
