Seagull International LLP – Human Resource Consultants is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter with 5-10 years of specialized expertise to join our maintenance team in the Oil & Gas sector. This full-time position based in the Al-Naseem neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia offers a competitive salary range of 10-15 LPA for qualified candidates with an ITI certification and proven industrial painting skills. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of surface preparation, coating application, and corrosion protection techniques specific to demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
As an Industrial Painter in our maintenance department, you will be responsible for executing high-quality painting and coating applications on various industrial surfaces and equipment. Your primary duties will include:
- Prepare metal surfaces through abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and chemical washing techniques according to industry standards
- Apply protective coatings, paints, and specialized linings to industrial equipment, piping, storage tanks, and structural components
- Mix and match paints to achieve required color specifications and consistency for various applications
- Operate and maintain painting equipment including spray guns, airless spray systems, and conventional application tools
- Implement corrosion prevention strategies and surface protection methods specific to Oil & Gas infrastructure
- Follow strict safety protocols including confined space entry procedures, hot work permits, and fall protection systems
- Inspect finished surfaces for consistency, thickness, adhesion, and compliance with project specifications
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, surface conditions, and coating applications for quality assurance
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule painting operations around production activities
- Execute surface preparation and coating applications in accordance with SSPC, NACE, and company standards
- Identify and report surface defects, coating failures, and potential corrosion issues for corrective action
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while properly storing paints, solvents, and related materials
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification
- ITI certification in Painting Technology, Surface Coating, or related field
- Relevant certifications in industrial painting, blasting, or coating inspection (preferred)
- Safety training certifications including OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety standards
Experience & Skills
- 5-10 years of proven experience as an Industrial Painter in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial settings
- Extensive knowledge of surface preparation standards (SSPC, NACE) and coating application techniques
- Proficiency with various painting systems including epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich, and intumescent coatings
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces while adhering to strict safety protocols
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in variable environmental conditions
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify surface defects and coating inconsistencies
- Experience with coating thickness testing, adhesion testing, and other quality control measures
- Knowledge of paint mixing ratios, pot life considerations, and application parameters
Technical Competencies
- Expertise in abrasive blasting techniques and surface profile assessment
- Proficient operation of conventional and airless spray equipment
- Understanding of corrosion mechanisms and protective coating strategies
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, coating schedules, and project requirements
- Knowledge of environmental regulations regarding VOC content and hazardous materials handling
