Key Responsibilities
As an Inspector - QA/QC (Structure), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all structural components meet industry standards and project specifications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough inspections of structural materials, welding, and fabrication processes.
- Ensuring compliance with QA/QC standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, AWS).
- Reviewing and approving inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans.
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve quality issues.
- Performing visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections as required.
- Monitoring and documenting construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control measures.
- Providing technical guidance to junior inspectors and site personnel.
- Participating in internal and external audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
Technical Skills
- Proven experience in structural inspection within the Oil & Gas or Construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes (ASME, AWS), steel structures, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods (e.g., Ultrasonic Testing, Radiography).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Soft Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.
Education & Certifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSWIP, AWS CWI, NDT Level II) are a plus.
Work Environment
This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires on-site presence at our Oil & Gas projects. The role may involve:
- Working in challenging outdoor environments (extreme temperatures, dusty conditions).
- Adhering to strict safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Collaborating with multicultural teams and contractors.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
