Job Overview
NSH (Nasser S. Al Hajri Corporation), a leading name in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking an experienced Inspector - QC (Welding/Pipe) to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest quality standards in welding and piping operations for our Oil & Gas projects.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in welding inspection, pipe quality control, and compliance with industry standards such as ASME, API, and AWS. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections of welding and piping work to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards (ASME, API, AWS, etc.).
- Review and approve welding procedures, qualifications, and material certifications.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on pipe fabrication and installation.
- Monitor welding processes and ensure proper execution of weld joints, including pre-heat, post-weld heat treatment, and electrode selection.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain quality records.
- Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and clients for joint inspections and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
- Provide technical guidance to welders, fabricators, and contractors to resolve quality issues.
- Verify material traceability and documentation for piping components.
- Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in welding inspection techniques (visual, NDT methods like RT, UT, MPI, LPT).
- In-depth knowledge of piping codes (ASME B31.3, B31.4, API 1104).
- Familiarity with welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Education & Certifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or related field.
- Mandatory: CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or equivalent welding certification.
- Additional NDT Level II certifications (RT, UT, MPI, LPT) are a plus.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) knowledge preferred.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with occasional travel to project sites. The role involves working in Oil & Gas construction environments, which may include exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, and industrial equipment. Candidates must adhere to strict safety protocols.
