Job Overview

International Overseas Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Structural QC Inspector to join our dynamic team in the Oil & Gas industry in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities & Duties

As a Structural Quality Control Inspector, your primary mandate will be to oversee and verify the quality of all structural components and installations. Your daily tasks will be crucial to project success and safety.

• Perform rigorous inspections of structural steel, concrete reinforcements, welding, bolting, and other critical elements at various stages of fabrication and installation.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and international codes (e.g., AISC, AWS, API).
• Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections, utilizing a variety of measurement tools and equipment to verify tolerances and alignment.
• Monitor and audit welding procedures, including pre-qualifications, welder certifications, and in-process welding activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Document all inspection activities meticulously, generating detailed reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintaining accurate quality records for traceability.
• Liaise effectively with engineers, project managers, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with company safety policies, quality management systems (QMS), and relevant local and international regulations.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to demonstrate compliance.
• Perform material verification to ensure received materials meet the required specifications and have appropriate certifications.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

• A Graduation or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Professional certifications relevant to structural inspection and quality control (e.g., AWS CWI, NACE, API 570/653, ASNT NDT Level II) are highly preferred and will be a significant advantage.

Experience & Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of proven experience in structural quality control inspection, specifically within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Demonstrable expertise in inspection techniques for structural steel, concrete, welding, and coating/painting.
• Strong familiarity with international codes and standards such as AISC, ASTM, AWS, ASME, and ISO.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, levels, gauges) and a solid understanding of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with an unwavering attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and team collaboration.
• Ability to read and decipher complex technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Physical ability to navigate construction sites, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
