Instrument Technician

Job Overview
Royal Star Manpower Solutions is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, inspect, and maintain instrumentation and control systems such as pressure gauges, transmitters, flow meters, and PLCs.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial instruments to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, ASME).
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with company protocols.
- Assist in commissioning new equipment and systems.
- Operate testing and diagnostic equipment to verify instrument functionality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in calibrating and troubleshooting industrial instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
- Experience with PLC systems, DCS, and SCADA.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team or independently.
- Effective communication skills.
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or Graduation in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction industry.
- Certification in instrumentation or control systems (preferred).
