Instrument Technician - Oil & Gas Industry

Location: Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: 5-8 LPA

Experience Level: 3-5 Years

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our Instrumentation Department in the Oil & Gas industry based in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in calibration, testing, and maintenance of industrial instruments. This is a full-time, on-site role offering a competitive salary and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and testing of process control instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty instrumentation systems in compliance with industry standards.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade control valves, transmitters, and other field instruments.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure optimal performance of instrumentation equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to implement instrumentation solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and calibration reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the commissioning of new instrumentation systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

  • ITI Certification in Instrumentation or related field.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in instrument calibration and testing within the Oil & Gas industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in calibrating pressure gauges, transmitters, and control valves.
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation loops.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site work in Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman. Candidates must be prepared to work in an industrial setting with exposure to field conditions. Safety gear and training will be provided.
