Instrument Technician - Oil & Gas Industry
Location: Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our Instrumentation Department in the Oil & Gas industry based in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in calibration, testing, and maintenance of industrial instruments. This is a full-time, on-site role offering a competitive salary and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and testing of process control instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty instrumentation systems in compliance with industry standards.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade control valves, transmitters, and other field instruments.
- Conduct periodic inspections to ensure optimal performance of instrumentation equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to implement instrumentation solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and calibration reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- ITI Certification in Instrumentation or related field.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in instrument calibration and testing within the Oil & Gas industry.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in calibrating pressure gauges, transmitters, and control valves.
- Knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation loops.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Work Environment
This position requires on-site work in Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman. Candidates must be prepared to work in an industrial setting with exposure to field conditions. Safety gear and training will be provided.
