Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance Department in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performance and safety in our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement devices.
- Calibrate, repair, and replace instruments such as transmitters, gauges, and sensors.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to optimize system performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and reports.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in maintenance and repair of industrial instrumentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Knowledge of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with calibration tools and techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education & Experience
- Graduation/Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Certifications in instrumentation or relevant technical training preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The role requires working in an industrial setting with exposure to heavy machinery, hazardous materials, and varying weather conditions. Candidates must be prepared for:
- Standing for extended periods.
- Lifting equipment and tools up to 25kg.
- Working in confined spaces or at heights when necessary.
- Adhering to strict safety protocols, including PPE usage.
