Key Responsibilities & Duties

As our Hotel IT Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining our technological infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical support and maintenance tasks essential for hotel operations.

Network Infrastructure Management

• Install, configure, and maintain hotel local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks (Wi-Fi)
• Ensure reliable internet connectivity throughout the hotel property, including guest rooms, conference facilities, and administrative areas
• Monitor network performance and implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
• Troubleshoot network issues and perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime

Hardware Maintenance and Support

• Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications for front desk, reservations, and administrative staff
• Maintain and troubleshoot point-of-sale (POS) systems used in restaurants, bars, and retail outlets within the hotel
• Provide technical support for peripheral devices including printers, scanners, and payment terminals
• Manage inventory of IT equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed

Hotel Software Systems Management

• Provide user support for Property Management Systems (PMS) and other hotel-specific software applications
• Assist with updates, patches, and maintenance of all software systems
• Train hotel staff on proper use of software and hardware systems
• Ensure data integrity and implement backup procedures for critical hotel systems

Guest Technology Support

• Address and resolve guest technology issues including in-room entertainment systems, internet connectivity problems, and device compatibility
• Maintain digital signage, television systems, and other guest-facing technology
• Ensure the security of guest information and compliance with data protection regulations

Preventive Maintenance & Documentation

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all IT systems
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system specifications, and operational procedures
• Create and update technical documentation for reference and reporting purposes

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

• ITI Certification in Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance or related field
• Additional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional are advantageous

Experience & Technical Skills

• 1-3 years of experience as an IT Technician, preferably in the hospitality industry or hotel environment
• Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and peripheral devices
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
• Familiarity with network security practices and anti-virus software
• Understanding of data privacy principles and best practices in the hospitality sector
