As a Kitchen Equipment Technician near me in the Wadi Kabir area of Muscat, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of commercial cooking equipment, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and ventilation systems. The position offers a competitive salary range of 5-8 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum) commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As a Kitchen Equipment Technician with our facility management team, your primary responsibilities will include:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, ranges, griddles, fryers, steamers, refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in kitchen equipment systems
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment to perform repairs and replace defective parts
- Troubleshoot gas, electric, and steam systems to identify performance issues
- Maintenance of exhaust hood systems and kitchen ventilation equipment
- Calibrate equipment to manufacturer specifications and ensure proper operation
Technical Services & Support
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair requests
- Install new kitchen equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Order necessary parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Provide technical guidance and training to kitchen staff on proper equipment operation
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for advanced technical support and warranty claims
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all kitchen equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while performing duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and tools
- Comply with health department regulations and facility management protocols
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
Education & Certification
- Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Certification in appliance repair or specific kitchen equipment brands is highly desirable
- Valid technical training certificates from recognized institutions
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5-10 years of proven experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and repair
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills including reading schematics and using multimeters
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to repair motors, gears, belts, and other mechanical components
- Experience with refrigeration systems, gas equipment, and steam systems
- Familiarity with kitchen ventilation systems and fire suppression equipment
- Ability to work on multiple brands of commercial kitchen equipment
