Key Responsibilities and Duties
As a Lead Civil Engineer at Ambe International, you will be at the forefront of our engineering endeavors, providing technical expertise and managerial oversight for critical oil and gas projects. Your day-to-day functions will be pivotal to our operational success.
- Provide expert technical leadership and guidance to a team of civil engineers and drafters, ensuring all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering components for oil and gas facilities, including site development, foundations, structural supports, drainage, and access roads.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, identifying potential risks and implementing proactive mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and government authorities to ensure all civil engineering work complies with local UAE regulations, international codes, and company-specific safety standards.
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports prepared by the engineering team.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure construction aligns with approved designs and specifications.
- Coordinate with other engineering departments (e.g., mechanical, electrical, piping) to ensure seamless integration of civil works with overall project requirements.
- Drive innovation by recommending and implementing improved design methodologies, construction techniques, and materials to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports and progress updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, mentoring junior engineers, and promoting knowledge sharing within the team.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

Education & Certification
- A Graduation/Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) certification, or equivalent, is a significant advantage.
- Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are desirable for working on oil and gas sites.
Experience & Technical Skills
- A minimum of 3-5 yearscivil engineering, with a substantial portion gained within the Oil & Gas industry or related heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, managing a team of engineers and technical staff.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS).
- In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, API, BS, Eurocodes) and their application in the UAE market.
- Hands-on experience with geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and dealing with challenging soil conditions.
- Demonstrable experience in managing project scope, budget, and timeline for mid to large-scale civil engineering projects.
