Key Responsibilities
The Lead Cost & Contract professional will oversee critical aspects of project cost management and contractual compliance. Key duties include:
- Manage end-to-end contract negotiation processes with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cost estimation models for Oil & Gas projects
- Analyze project budgets and provide accurate cost forecasting
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company policies
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, and operations
- Prepare and present regular cost reports to senior management
- Review and approve payment applications and change orders
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and market trends
- Resolve contractual disputes through effective negotiation and mediation
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in contractual negotiation and management
- Expertise in cost estimation and project budgeting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in contract management software and MS Excel
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry standards and practices
- Education:
- Graduation or Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical sector
- Demonstrated success in managing high-value contracts and cost control
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Contract Management or Cost Engineering
- Experience with FIDIC contracts or similar international standards
- Familiarity with UAE's Oil & Gas regulatory environment
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Arabic)
