About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Lineman Technician to join our Construction team in Muscat, Oman. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of power lines in the Oil & Gas and Engineering & Construction sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and hands-on experience in power line work.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines.
• Inspect power lines and electrical systems to identify faults or hazards.
• Operate specialized tools and equipment for line work, including bucket trucks and digger derricks.
• Follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Assist in emergency repairs during power outages or line failures.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Document work performed, including maintenance logs and inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with local and international electrical regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

• ITI certification in Electrical or a related field.

Experience:

• 0-1 year of experience in power line installation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and blueprints is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in using tools such as cable cutters, crimpers, and voltage testers.
• Knowledge of high-voltage systems and safety procedures.
• Ability to climb poles and work at heights.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical faults.

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Physical stamina to work in challenging environments.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain. The role involves:

• Standing, climbing, and lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Working at heights on ladders, poles, or aerial lifts.
• Adhering to strict safety protocols to minimize risk.
• Traveling to different job sites as needed.
