Lineman Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Lineman Technician to join our Electrical Maintenance team in Diriyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-voltage power lines to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, safety awareness, and teamwork.

As a Lineman Technician, you will work outdoors in various weather conditions, climb utility poles, and operate specialized equipment. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in high-voltage line maintenance and hold a diploma or degree in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines and associated equipment.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to identify faults, wear, or damage.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical outages and voltage issues.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other heavy machinery safely.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and industry regulations.
• Assist in emergency power restoration during outages or natural disasters.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to ensure system reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and repairs.
• Work with high-voltage transformers, insulators, and switchgear.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in high-voltage line maintenance and repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with climbing utility poles and working at heights.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
• Familiarity with power distribution systems and grid infrastructure.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.
• Physical stamina and dexterity for demanding tasks.

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Graduation in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Lineman Technician.
• Certification in high-voltage electrical work (preferred).
• Valid driver's license (required for operating utility vehicles).

Work Environment

This position is not remote and requires on-site work in Diriyah, Riyadh. The role involves:

• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Traveling to different job sites within the region.
• Potential overtime or emergency call-outs.
• Strict adherence to safety gear and protocols.
