Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our Procurement Department in Abu Dhabi. This is a full-time position within the Oil & Gas industry, requiring 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Purchase Order Processing and related procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services to support our operations.
This role is based in Abu Dhabi City, with no remote work options. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services required for Oil & Gas operations.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, conduct negotiations, and establish long-term partnerships to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions, verify specifications, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor supplier performance, track delivery schedules, and resolve any issues related to quality, pricing, or timelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Engineering, Operations) to understand procurement needs and timelines.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and industry best practices in procurement.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in procurement activities.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of purchased goods.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Proven expertise in Purchase Order Processing within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance standards.
Education & Experience:
- Graduation or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience as a Buyer in the Oil & Gas or similar heavy industries.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices and industry-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
- Experience working in Abu Dhabi or the broader UAE market.
- Knowledge of local suppliers and vendors in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Fluency in Arabic (an advantage but not mandatory).
