Machinist Responsibilities & Duties

Our Machinist position demands comprehensive technical skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining various machining tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment
  • Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for oil and gas equipment
  • Precision manufacturing and repair of components for pumps, valves, compressors, turbines, and other petrochemical processing equipment
  • Performing accurate measurements using精密 instruments such as micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and surface plates
  • Executing preventive maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance programs for machining equipment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime in petroleum processing operations
  • Maintaining strict quality control standards and ensuring all machined components meet industry specifications and tolerances
  • Collaborating with maintenance teams, engineers, and other technical staff to optimize equipment performance and reliability
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures specific to the oil and gas industry work environment
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project
  • Training and mentoring junior machinists and apprentices in proper techniques and safety procedures
  • Continuously improving machining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs

The Machinist will work primarily in an industrial setting, requiring physical stamina and the ability to work with heavy machinery components typical in petrochemical facilities.

Machinist Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Graduation/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • Relevant machining certifications or apprenticeship completion documents
  • Safety training certifications specific to oil and gas industry operations

Experience & Skills

  • 5-10 years of professional machining experience, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial settings
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical systems, precision measurement, and machining techniques
  • Proficiency in operating conventional and CNC machining equipment
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties relevant to petroleum industry applications
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability principles
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and geometric dimensioning
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Physical capability to handle heavy components and work in industrial environments
