Machinist – Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Machinist with 5-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining precision machining equipment to produce and repair mechanical components. This is a full-time position based in Kuwait City, Al-Faiha’, requiring hands-on expertise in mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC and manual machining equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.).
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to produce precise components.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety and quality standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.).
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Measure and verify dimensions of finished workpieces using precision tools.
• Maintain accurate records of production and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and component fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Knowledge of machining materials (metals, alloys, composites).

Education & Certifications:

• ITI certification in Machining or related field.
• Additional vocational training or apprenticeships are a plus.

Experience:

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in machining within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry.
• Prior work in a high-precision manufacturing or industrial environment.

Work Environment

This role requires on-site presence in a fast-paced industrial setting. The candidate must be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Safety gear (PPE) is mandatory at all times.
