Key Responsibilities
As the Maintenance In-Charge / Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment.
- Leading and managing the maintenance team, ensuring high productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in a timely manner.
- Coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with local and international food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
- Managing spare parts inventory and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs and potential risks.
- Documenting maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment history.
- Training and mentoring junior maintenance staff to enhance their technical skills.
- Collaborating with senior management to develop long-term maintenance strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Technical Skills
- Proven expertise in industrial maintenance, especially within the Food & Beverage sector.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and packaging machinery.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with PLC systems, pneumatics, and automation.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Soft Skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Certifications in OSHA, PMP, or Lean Maintenance are a plus.
Work Environment
This role is based in a fast-paced Food & Beverage production facility in Kuwait. The position requires:
- On-site presence with no remote work options.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, if necessary.
- Ability to work in a high-temperature environment and lift heavy equipment.
