Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planner - Mechanical to join our dynamic team in Muscat, Oman. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of mechanical maintenance operations within the oil & gas construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to align maintenance activities with production goals.
- Conduct detailed inspections and risk assessments to identify potential mechanical failures.
- Prepare detailed work orders, including required materials, tools, and labor estimates.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track maintenance activities and performance metrics.
- Ensure all maintenance plans adhere to safety regulations and environmental policies.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and liaise with procurement teams to ensure timely availability.
- Analyze historical maintenance data to improve planning strategies and reduce costs.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior maintenance staff.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience as a Maintenance Planner or similar role in the oil & gas or construction industry.
- Proven expertise in mechanical maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Strong familiarity with CMMS, SAP, or similar enterprise planning tools.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Advanced knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to assess maintenance trends and recommend improvements.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Muscat, Oman, with occasional site visits to remote locations. The role may require working in challenging environments, including exposure to extreme weather conditions and adherence to strict safety protocols typical in the oil & gas construction industry.
