Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our dynamic construction team in Muscat, Oman. This role is critical in supporting our projects in the Oil & Gas and Engineering & Construction sectors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in concrete and brickwork handling and possess an ITI certification in masonry or a related field. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive compensation ranging from 2-4 LPA.
Job Responsibilities
As a Mason, your primary duties will include:
- Constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction.
- Mixing and applying mortar, grout, and other adhesives to bond masonry units.
- Ensuring structural integrity by aligning bricks, blocks, and stones correctly.
- Cutting and shaping materials to fit designated spaces using hand and power tools.
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean, hazard-free worksite.
- Inspecting completed work for quality and compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: ITI certification in Masonry or a related field.
- Experience: 0-1 year of hands-on experience in masonry, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in concrete and brickwork handling, mortar mixing, and masonry tools.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor environments.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in aligning and shaping materials.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your application:
- Prior experience in Oil & Gas infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with advanced masonry techniques and materials.
- Basic knowledge of construction machinery and equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role involves the following working conditions:
- Location: On-site in Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman (remote work not applicable).
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential overtime based on project needs.
- Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials (50+ lbs), and working in varying weather conditions.
- Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety boots is mandatory.
