Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Material Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in material evaluation, selection, and quality assurance to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough material evaluation and failure analysis.
- Select appropriate materials for pipelines, pressure vessels, and other critical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, API).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for material specifications and procurement.
- Perform corrosion resistance testing and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain documentation for material certifications and test reports.
- Provide technical support during inspections and audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in material testing techniques (e.g., tensile testing, hardness testing).
- Knowledge of metallurgy, polymers, ceramics, and composite materials.
- Familiarity with corrosion mechanisms and prevention methods.
- Experience with industry-standard software for material analysis.
Education & Experience
- Graduation/Diploma in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector.
- Certifications in material science or related disciplines are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
