Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner to join our client's manufacturing team. This entry-level position is ideal for graduates or diploma holders with a keen interest in material planning, inventory control, and supply chain management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing material flow, reducing costs, and ensuring production schedules are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material requirement plans to support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
• Analyze demand forecasts and adjust material orders accordingly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, production) to mitigate supply risks.
• Track material shortages, excess inventory, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of material usage, lead times, and supplier performance.
• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Generate reports on material availability, shortages, and cost-saving opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic understanding of material planning, procurement, and inventory control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills for cross-department collaboration.

Preferred (But Not Required):

• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or material planning software.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
