Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner to join our client's manufacturing team. This entry-level position is ideal for graduates or diploma holders with a keen interest in material planning, inventory control, and supply chain management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing material flow, reducing costs, and ensuring production schedules are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain material requirement plans to support production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
- Analyze demand forecasts and adjust material orders accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, production) to mitigate supply risks.
- Track material shortages, excess inventory, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Generate reports on material availability, shortages, and cost-saving opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic understanding of material planning, procurement, and inventory control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
Preferred (But Not Required):
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or material planning software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
