Job Description: Mechanical Draftsman (FG01704)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsman (FG01704) to join our Mechanical Engineering team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This full-time role is critical in supporting engineering projects within the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in mechanical drafting, proficiency in AutoCAD, P&ID, and layout design, and a diploma or degree in a relevant field.

Salary Range: 10-15 LPA

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for mechanical systems and components. Your key duties include:

• Develop and revise mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Create and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for Oil & Gas projects.
• Prepare assembly layouts, sectional views, and detailed schematics based on engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Review and interpret technical sketches, models, and blueprints for accuracy.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company, client, and regulatory standards (ASME, ANSI, API).
• Assist in material take-offs and Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation.
• Support on-site teams with technical documentation and design clarifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) for mechanical drafting.
• Experience in P&ID development and pipeline layouts.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and fabrication techniques.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI).
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering schematics.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with ISO drafting standards and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional CAD software (SolidWorks, MicroStation).
• Knowledge of pressure vessel and pipeline design.
• Exposure to BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.

Work Environment

This role is based in Abu Dhabi City, UAE, and is not remote. The position involves:
