Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As a Mechanical Filter specialist at Hamdan Global, your primary focus will be on the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex filtration systems used in our petrochemical operations. Your responsibilities will include:
System Maintenance & Operations
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on various mechanical filters, including strainers, separators, and cartridge filtration systems.
- Conduct detailed inspections of filter housings, elements, and supporting piping to identify wear, corrosion, or potential failure points.
- Diagnose operational issues within filtration systems, such as pressure drops, flow irregularities, and contamination leaks.
- Execute precise mechanical fitting tasks, including alignment, bolting, gasket replacement, and seal installation to ensure system integrity.
- Coordinate with the operations team to schedule filter changes and maintenance during planned shutdowns to minimize production disruption.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns of critical filtration equipment, performing swift and effective repairs to restore functionality.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble complex filter assemblies, ensuring all components meet strict quality and safety standards.
- Utilize precision measuring tools to verify tolerances and clearances of mechanical parts within filter systems.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices on proper mechanical fitting procedures and safety protocols.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and permit-to-work systems, particularly when working in hazardous areas.
- Ensure all work performed complies with industry standards and environmental regulations specific to the Oil & Gas sector.
- Participate actively in safety meetings, risk assessments, and incident investigations related to mechanical equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful in this Mechanical Filter role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education & Certification
- ITI certification in Mechanical Fitter trade or equivalent required.
- Additional certification in industrial maintenance or hydraulic systems is a significant advantage.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) relevant to the Oil & Gas industry are highly preferred.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical fitting within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry or similar heavy industrial environment.
- Proven expertise in maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical filtration systems, including basket strainers, bag filters, and centrifugal separators.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment manuals.
- Strong practical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments used in mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with preventive maintenance software and documentation practices.
