Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties
As the Mechanical Foreman, you will be the on-site leader for all mechanical trades. Your expertise will be critical in coordinating projects, managing teams, and interfacing with other departments to ensure seamless project execution. Your daily tasks will require a blend of technical knowledge, people management, and strategic planning.
Project and Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of mechanical technicians, mechanics, and subcontractors on the construction site.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to plan work activities and allocate resources effectively.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, company policies, and local Omani building codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote a zero-accident culture on site.
Technical Execution and Quality Control
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical system failures, implementing effective and timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Perform rigorous quality inspections of completed work, ensuring it meets the predefined standards and project requirements.
- Manage and maintain an inventory of mechanical tools, equipment, and spare parts, coordinating with the procurement department for new orders.
- Monitor project progress against schedules and budgets, providing daily reports to the Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and other foremen to resolve any interdisciplinary conflicts and ensure project alignment.
Requirements and Qualifications
