Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a Mechanical Static Supervisor, your primary function will be to oversee all static mechanical equipment installation, maintenance, and integrity on our construction site. Your duties will encompass a wide range of technical and managerial tasks essential for project success.
- Provide daily supervision and technical guidance to a team of mechanical technicians and fitters.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the installation, alignment, and testing of static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pipelines, and valves.
- Ensure all mechanical construction activities comply with project specifications, international codes (ASME, API), and stringent safety standards.
- Develop and implement detailed preventive maintenance schedules for all static mechanical assets to ensure maximum reliability and uptime.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical issues related to static equipment, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Review and approve mechanical method statements, work permits, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Coordinate closely with other discipline supervisors (piping, civil, electrical) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Monitor and control inventory of mechanical spares, tools, and consumables, ensuring availability while managing costs.
- Prepare daily progress reports, equipment history reports, and maintenance logs for management review.
- Conduct regular safety toolbox talks and ensure all team members adhere to safe work practices and PPE requirements.
- Manage manpower allocation, work scheduling, and performance reviews for your team.
- Participate in project meetings, providing mechanical expertise and updates on construction progress.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be considered for this senior Mechanical Supervisor role, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria and possess the necessary technical competencies.
Education & Certification
- A Diploma or Graduation degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Certification in relevant areas such as ASME, API 510/570/653, NDT, or welding inspection is a significant advantage.
- Formal training in supervisory skills, safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH), and project management is highly desirable.
Experience & Skills
- A minimum of 5-10 yearsOil & Gas Construction or petrochemical industry.
- Demonstrable expertise in the supervision of static equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- In-depth practical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, equipment design, and fabrication standards.
