Key Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Duties
As a Mechanical Supervisor with ITL in Saudi Arabia, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of mechanical systems on our client's site. Your expertise will be critical in upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and leading a team of mechanical technicians and fitters in daily maintenance and repair activities for oil and gas equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and pipelines.
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating all mechanical maintenance work to minimize downtime and maximize plant productivity.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all company safety policies, industry standards (like API, ASME), and international best practices to create a zero-incident work environment.
- Diagnosing complex mechanical faults, troubleshooting equipment failures, and implementing effective, long-term solutions.
- Overseeing the installation, commissioning, and testing of new mechanical equipment and systems.
- Managing inventory of spare parts, tools, and mechanical consumables, ensuring availability while controlling costs.
- Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide the team accurately.
- Preparing daily progress reports, maintenance logs, and equipment history records for management review.
- Collaborating closely with other department supervisors, engineers, and project managers to achieve integrated operational goals.
- Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to junior team members to enhance their skills and promote professional development.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems to proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this mechanical supervisor role within the demanding oil and gas field, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education & Certification
- A minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; a Bachelor's degree (Graduation) is highly preferred.
- Relevant certifications in mechanical maintenance, safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH), or specific oil and gas equipment are a significant advantage.
Experience & Technical Skills
- 3-5 years of proven experience in a mechanical supervision role, specifically within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or a related heavy industry.
- In-depth hands-on knowledge of rotating equipment, static equipment, and piping systems common in oil and gas facilities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order management and planning.
