Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Technician – Column and Vessels, you will be responsible for:
- Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing columns, vessels, and related mechanical equipment.
- Performing preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical failures in columns, pressure vessels, and associated systems.
- Assisting in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Ensuring adherence to company safety protocols and industry regulations (e.g., ASME, API).
- Collaborating with engineers and other technicians to improve equipment performance.
- Documenting maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and replacements.
- Operating hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in column and vessel maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems and performing repairs.
- Knowledge of welding, machining, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
- Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, API, ASME).
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance (preferably in Oil & Gas).
- Experience with column and vessel fabrication, inspection, or repair is a plus.
Work Environment
This role operates in an industrial setting with exposure to heavy machinery, high-pressure systems, and outdoor conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working in:
- Confined spaces (e.g., inside columns/vessels).
- High-temperature and high-noise environments.
- Rotating shifts, including nights and weekends if required.
Safety gear (PPE) will be provided, and strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
