Mechatronics Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics Technician to join our Engineering Department in our manufacturing facility located in Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in working with robotics and control systems and hold an ITI certification or equivalent qualification.
As a Mechatronics Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our automated manufacturing systems to ensure peak performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair mechatronic systems including robotics, control systems, and automated machinery
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues
- Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) for optimal performance
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineers to implement system improvements and upgrades
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance
- Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and regulations
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians as needed
- Stay current with emerging technologies in mechatronics and automation
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- ITI certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechatronics systems maintenance
- Proven expertise with industrial robotics and control systems
- Strong understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CNC machinery operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with SCADA systems
- Knowledge of ISO safety standards in manufacturing
- Basic computer skills including MS Office and technical software
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to:
- Industrial machinery and equipment
- Moderate noise levels
- Variable temperatures
The role requires:
- Standing for extended periods
- Lifting up to 25kg occasionally
- Working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Shift work including nights and weekends as needed
