MEP Draftsman: AutoCAD & Revit Specialist

Key Responsibilities & Duties

As our dedicated MEP Draftsman, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, transforming design concepts into precise, buildable construction documents. Your primary focus will be on creating accurate and detailed drafts that adhere to all relevant codes and standards.

Drafting and Design

• Create comprehensive and detailed MEP drafts and shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software for various construction projects.
• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, fire protection, power, lighting, and water supply systems.
• Collaborate with MEP engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, design intent, and technical specifications.
• Prepare and revise drawings based on mark-ups, redlines, and feedback from engineers, architects, and clients.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and compliant with company standards, project requirements, and local UAE regulations.

Coordination and Collaboration

• Work closely with other draftsmen, designers, and engineers to resolve clashes and conflicts between different building systems within the BIM model.
• Attend project coordination meetings to discuss design challenges and provide drafting solutions.
• Coordinate with structural and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall building design.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.

Quality Assurance

• Perform self-checks on all drawings for accuracy, clarity, and completeness before submission for review.
• Assist in the preparation of material schedules and quantity take-offs from drawings.
• Stay updated with the latest drafting standards, software updates (especially AutoCAD and Revit), and industry best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this MEP Draftsman role, candidates must possess a combination of formal education, proven technical skills, and relevant industry experience.

Education & Experience

• A Graduation degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 yearsMEP Draftsman within the construction industry.
• Extensive portfolio demonstrating successful completion of MEP drafting projects for large-scale commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
• Experience working on projects in the UAE or Gulf region is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills & Proficiency

• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD is non-negotiable.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit for BIM modeling is essential.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methods, and building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
• Excellent knowledge of drafting standards and conventions.
• Strong spatial reasoning and attention to detail.
