Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As our dedicated MEP Draftsman – HVAC, you will be an integral part of our project delivery team. Your primary focus will be on producing high-quality drafts and technical drawings for complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Your meticulous work will directly contribute to the successful execution of construction projects in the Riyadh region and beyond.

Core Technical Drafting Functions

• Develop detailed HVAC system design drawings, including ductwork layout, piping diagrams, equipment placement, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other CAD/BIM software.
• Prepare comprehensive MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination drawings to identify and resolve clashes between different building systems.
• Create and modify technical drawings based on engineer sketches, markups, and verbal instructions, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Generate installation drawings, schematic diagrams, and as-built documentation for various construction phases, from initial concept to final execution.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and project managers to implement design changes and address site-related issues promptly.

Project Coordination & Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, structural engineers, and electrical designers to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Review project documents and specifications to ensure compliance with local Saudi Arabian regulations, international standards, and company quality procedures.
• Participate in project meetings to provide technical input and updates on drafting progress and challenges.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation, ensuring version control and proper archiving of all drawings.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify measurements and gain firsthand understanding of installation requirements and constraints.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

The ideal candidate for this MEP Draftsman – HVAC position will possess a combination of technical education, practical experience, and software proficiency. Below are the essential qualifications we require:

Education & Experience

• Graduation/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3-5 yearsHVAC system design in the construction industry.
• Proven portfolio of successful projects demonstrating expertise in creating technical drawings for complex HVAC systems.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects, particularly in the Middle East region (specifically Saudi Arabia), is highly desirable.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other BIM software for creating detailed MEP drawings.
• Thorough understanding of HVAC principles, duct sizing, equipment selection, and ventilation requirements.
• Strong knowledge of international MEP standards, building codes, and construction methodologies.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings to coordinate MEP services effectively.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and attention to detail to identify potential design conflicts before installation.
• Familiarity with calculation software for ventilation requirements and heat load analysis.
• Strong communication skills in English (Arabic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory).
