International Overseas Services (IOSR) is seeking a highly skilled MEP Draftsman specializing in Plumbing & Firefighting systems to join our dynamic mechanical engineering department in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This MEP drafting position offers an exceptional opportunity to work on large-scale construction projects while developing expertise in piping layout design and fire protection engineering.

As our Plumbing and Firefighting Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that form the foundation of modern building systems. Your expertise in AutoCAD drafting and understanding of MEP coordination will contribute directly to the successful implementation of complex construction projects throughout the Saudi Arabian market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive plumbing system drawings including water supply, drainage, and sewage systems using AutoCAD software
• Create detailed firefighting system schematics including sprinkler systems, fire hydrant networks, and emergency water supply layouts
• Prepare piping layout designs for both plumbing and fire protection systems according to international standards and local regulations
• Coordinate with MEP engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of plumbing and firefighting systems with other building services
• Produce technical drawings for equipment installation, pipe routing, and system components placement
• Generate drainage schematics including stormwater management systems and sanitary drainage networks
• Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings to ensure proper system integration and conflict resolution
• Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs for plumbing and firefighting systems
• Update and modify drawings based on site feedback, engineering changes, and client requirements
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes and standards including Saudi Arabian building regulations
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for multiple projects simultaneously
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical support to the construction team

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field
• Certification in AutoCAD or relevant drafting software is highly preferred
• Additional training in plumbing design or fire protection systems is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as an MEP draftsman with focus on plumbing and firefighting systems
• Proven track record in creating piping layouts for large-scale construction projects
• Extensive experience with drainage schematic design and stormwater management systems
• Background in construction industry with understanding of site execution processes
• Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or Middle East region is preferred

Technical Skills

• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD for MEP drafting and design
• Strong knowledge of plumbing system design principles and practices
• Comprehensive understanding of firefighting systems and relevant codes
• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) concepts is advantageous
• Knowledge of international standards including NFPA, IPC, and local Saudi codes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
