Painting/Coating Inspector

Job Overview

Mivian Indoglobal Management Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Painting/Coating Inspector to join our Engineering team in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in inspection within the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction industry. This role requires strong attention to detail and expertise in ensuring the quality and durability of painting and coating applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of painting and coating applications to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Monitor surface preparation, coating application, and curing processes to verify adherence to quality control protocols.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to evaluate coating integrity and detect defects.
• Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and communicate results to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve coating-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines during coating operations.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise on painting and coating best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma or Graduation in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Painting/Coating Inspector in the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction sector.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools such as DFT gauges, adhesion testers, and holiday detectors.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NACE, SSPC, ISO, and ASTM.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address coating defects.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques (e.g., abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning).
• Understanding of coating materials (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers).
• Experience with corrosion protection systems and cathodic protection.

Preferred Certifications

• NACE Certified Coating Inspector (Level 1 or higher).
• SSPC Certified Protective Coating Specialist.
• BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector Certification.

Working Conditions

• This is an on-site role with no remote work options.
• Work may involve outdoor inspections in varying weather conditions.
• Occasional travel to project sites or client locations may be required.
