Permit Coordinator Job Description – Oil & Gas Industry (Doha, Qatar)
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to join our Operations team in Doha, Qatar. This full-time position is critical to ensuring smooth permit processing and compliance within the Oil & Gas / Engineering & Construction industry. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in permit coordination, strong administrative skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Permit Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and processing permits to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. Key duties include:
- Permit Processing: Assist in the preparation, submission, and tracking of permit applications for construction, maintenance, and operational activities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all permits adhere to local, state, and federal regulations within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of permits, approvals, and related documentation.
- Coordination: Liaise between project managers, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate permit approvals.
- Deadline Tracking: Monitor permit expiration dates and initiate renewal processes in a timely manner.
- Reporting: Prepare status reports on permit applications, approvals, and pending issues.
- Site Visits: Occasionally visit project sites to verify compliance with permit conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- ITI certification or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Additional certifications in permit coordination, regulatory compliance, or project management are a plus.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in permit coordination, preferably in the Oil & Gas / Engineering & Construction sector.
- Familiarity with Qatar’s permit application processes and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple permits simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Skills & Competencies
- Coordination: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in documentation and compliance tracking.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve permit-related issues efficiently.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with permit management software, MS Office, and database systems.
Work Environment & Conditions
- Job Type: Full-time, on-site.
- Location: Old Airport, Doha, Ad Dawhah (Doha), Qatar.
- Remote Work: Not available for this role.
- Working Hours: Standard business hours, with occasional overtime based on project demands.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: 2-4 LPA (QAR), based on experience and qualifications.
