Job Description: Pipe Fitters / Structural Fitters (Oil & Gas Industry)

About the Role

We are seeking skilled Pipe Fitters / Structural Fitters to join our dynamic team in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems and structural frameworks in compliance with industry standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in pipe cutting & joining, along with a strong understanding of safety protocols in a high-risk environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine pipe layouts.
• Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Install and secure pipes, valves, and fittings using welding, brazing, or threading methods.
• Inspect and test installed systems for leaks, pressure, and durability.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project specifications are met.
• Maintain compliance with industry safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing piping systems.
• Operate hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, and pipe cutters.
• Fabricate structural components as needed for industrial installations.
• Document work progress and report any issues to supervisors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in pipe cutting & joining techniques.
• Experience with welding, brazing, and threading processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in the Oil & Gas industry.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in pipefitting or welding is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in pipefitting or structural fitting within the Oil & Gas sector is required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves working in challenging environments, including confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures. Candidates must be physically fit and able to:

• Lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Stand or kneel for extended periods.
• Work in noisy or hazardous conditions.
• Adhere to strict safety guidelines at all times.
