Key Responsibilities
As a Piping Foreman, your primary duties will include:
- Supervision of Piping Installations: Oversee the installation, alignment, and testing of piping systems in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of pipefitters, welders, and laborers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections to verify piping systems meet design, material, and regulatory requirements.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of construction phases.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA, company, and site-specific safety guidelines to minimize workplace hazards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of work progress, material usage, and labor hours.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve piping system issues during installation or testing phases.
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in reading and interpreting piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, and construction blueprints.
- Hands-on Experience: 1-3 years of experience in piping installation, fabrication, or maintenance within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to supervise and motivate a construction team.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot piping system issues.
- Certifications: Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Communication: Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and API piping standards.
- Experience with welding, hydrotesting, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Prior work experience in the Middle East, particularly Oman.
Work Environment
This role is based on-site in Muscat, Oman, and involves working in challenging outdoor conditions. Candidates must be prepared for:
- Exposure to high temperatures and demanding physical work.
