Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems on marine vessels, oil rigs, or related offshore structures.
- Inspect pipelines, fixtures, water supply, and drainage systems for leaks, corrosion, or damage.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications for marine plumbing systems.
- Work with high-pressure water systems, sewage systems, and fuel pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians on system upgrades and modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues under time constraints.
- Use specialized tools and equipment for marine plumbing tasks.
- Provide emergency repairs in case of system failures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inspections.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in marine plumbing or related field.
- Diploma or certification in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, or Marine Systems.
- Proficiency in installing and repairing pipes, valves, pumps, and drainage systems.
- Knowledge of marine-specific plumbing materials (e.g., corrosion-resistant pipes, high-grade PVC).
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, often in challenging offshore environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and fixing plumbing faults.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills (preferred).
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for manual labor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Certification in marine plumbing systems or offshore safety.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations affecting marine plumbing.
