As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving industrial processes within our petrochemical facilities. Your technical expertise will drive operational excellence, cost reduction initiatives, and sustainable practices throughout our production operations in Riyadh.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical processes for petrochemical production facilities using advanced process simulation software
- Design and evaluate process systems, including reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, and separation units
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process technologies and plant modifications
- Perform process hazard analyses (PHA) and risk assessments to ensure operational safety and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, instrumentation specialists, and operations personnel
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency
- Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and enhance product quality
- Prepare technical documentation, including operating manuals, process descriptions, and engineering reports
- Provide technical support during plant commissioning, start-up, and shutdown activities
- Monitor process performance indicators and implement optimization strategies for continuous improvement
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in petrochemical engineering
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or related field
Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, ChemCAD, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of chemical process design, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations
- Experience with process hazard analysis methodologies (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA)
- Familiarity with international standards and codes (API, ASME, ISO, IEC)
- Proven ability to develop and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and process datasheets
- Understanding of instrumentation and control systems relevant to process operations
- Knowledge of refinery processes, petrochemical manufacturing, and hydrocarbon processing
- Experience with plant commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities
