Key Responsibilities & Duties

As the Process Lead Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our engineering operations, providing technical leadership and ensuring the highest standards of process safety and efficiency. Your core responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design to commissioning.

• Lead the development, review, and approval of all process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances, and equipment datasheets.
• Spearhead process design activities for new facilities and modifications to existing units within refinery, petrochemical, or gas processing plants.
• Perform and oversee complex process simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) to optimize plant performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Provide technical authority and guidance on all process-related matters, ensuring strict compliance with international codes, standards, and company best practices (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
• Manage and lead Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other process safety reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
• Mentor and coach junior process engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the department.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, instrumentation engineers, and clients to ensure integrated and successful project execution.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports for both internal stakeholders and external clients, effectively communicating complex engineering concepts.
• Provide critical support during the procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, resolving any technical queries that arise.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this senior technical leadership role, the candidate must demonstrate a strong academic foundation and extensive practical experience in chemical and petrochemical process engineering.

Education & Certification

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable.

Experience & Technical Skills

• A minimum of 10+ yearsprocess engineering, with a significant portion gained within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven, extensive hands-on experience in PFD/P&ID development, from initial concept through to issued-for-construction packages.
• Demonstrable experience in leading FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering projects for major capital projects.
• Expert-level proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, etc.) and hydraulic analysis tools.
• In-depth knowledge of international engineering standards, process safety management (PSM), and risk assessment methodologies.
• Prior experience working in a lead engineer or principal engineer capacity, with responsibility for guiding a team of engineers.
