Key Responsibilities

As a Production Engineer at Ashwin Enterprises, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing operations. Your primary focus will be on enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring that all automotive parts meet stringent quality standards. Below is a detailed list of your core responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring adherence to production schedules and timelines.
• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and systems to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machinery, equipment, and production lines.
• Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to develop and refine automotive components, ensuring manufacturability and efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste and maximize resource utilization.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Train and mentor production staff on best practices, new processes, and safety protocols.
• Monitor and analyze production data, preparing reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), yield, and downtime.
• Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components required for uninterrupted production.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a combination of relevant education, experience, and skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and production management.

Education

• Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized institution.

Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role, preferably within the Automotive industry.
• Proven experience with CNC machines, assembly lines, and automated manufacturing systems.
• Familiarity with production planning, capacity planning, and inventory management.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing and modifying production tools and fixtures.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forging, and injection molding.
• Experience with quality control tools and techniques, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEA, and metrology.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
