Project Engineer – Control & Automation (Oil & Gas Industry)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Control & Automation to join our dynamic Engineering team in the Oil & Gas sector. This full-time position is based in Muscat, Oman, and requires a professional with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in project planning, control, and automation systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize control & automation systems for Oil & Gas projects.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and process engineers, to integrate control systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot technical issues during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and project reports.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and post-implementation phases.
• Perform regular site inspections and audits to monitor project progress and quality.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in control & automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in project planning and execution within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and automation technologies.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in control & automation projects, preferably in Oil & Gas.
