International Overseas Consultants is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Mechanical) for a full-time position in the thriving Oil & Gas industry in Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities
As our Mechanical Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of oil and gas projects, ensuring mechanical systems are designed, installed, and commissioned according to specifications. Your comprehensive project management duties will include:
Project Planning and Execution
- Develop detailed project plans encompassing scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies
- Coordinate all mechanical engineering activities including design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
- Implement robust project control systems to monitor progress, performance metrics, and key deliverables
- Manage project documentation including technical specifications, drawings, method statements, and compliance records
- Conduct regular project review meetings with stakeholders, clients, and team members
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary project teams including engineers, technicians, and contractors
- Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining overall responsibility for project outcomes
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes high performance and continuous improvement
- Resolve conflicts and address performance issues promptly and professionally
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify development opportunities for team members
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met or exceeded
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures where necessary
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders within authorization limits
- Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting to senior management
- Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or safety
Quality and Safety Compliance
- Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control processes throughout project lifecycle
- Champion safety culture by enforcing strict adherence to HSE protocols and procedures
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and managing expectations
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and client representatives
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions
- Manage change requests and variations in accordance with contractual agreements
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with all project stakeholders
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Graduation/Diploma)
- Professional engineering certification or PMP certification preferred
- Additional qualifications in project management or oil and gas operations advantageous
Experience
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical project management within the oil and gas sector
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex mechanical engineering projects
- Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale mechanical installations and commissioning
- Previous Middle East experience, particularly in Saudi Arabia, highly desirable
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including piping, pressure vessels, rotating equipment
- Expert knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Competency in CAD software and mechanical design principles
