QA-QC Engineer - Mechanical: Oil & Gas Industry Expert
Sinclus Marketing Services Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA-QC Engineer - Mechanical for a pivotal role within the dynamic Oil & Gas sector in Qatar. This full-time position, based in the Al Sadd neighborhood of Doha, is ideal for a mechanical quality assurance professional with 5-10 years of direct experience ensuring the highest standards of integrity and safety in critical energy projects. The successful candidate will be a cornerstone of our quality control department, implementing robust QA/QC protocols and driving excellence across all mechanical aspects of our operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
As our dedicated QA-QC Engineer specializing in mechanical systems, you will be entrusted with a wide range of critical tasks to uphold and enhance our quality management framework.
Quality System Implementation & Auditing
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and related inspection and test plans (ITPs) for all mechanical works, including piping, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, and structural fabrications.
- Lead internal and external quality audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001, project specifications, and client requirements, preparing detailed audit reports and managing corrective action plans (CAPA).
- Maintain comprehensive quality control documentation, including method statements, procedures, inspection reports, test certifications, and material traceability records.
Inspection & Testing Coordination
- Perform and witness incoming, in-process, and final inspections on mechanical materials, components, and installations to verify conformity to technical data sheets, codes, and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
- Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies (TPIA) and client representatives for hold and witness point inspections, ensuring seamless collaboration and documentation sign-off.
- Oversee and review non-destructive testing (NDT) activities such as RT, UT, MPI, and LPT, ensuring procedures are qualified and results are accurately interpreted and documented.
Non-Conformance & Compliance Management
- Identify, document, and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), initiating root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure all mechanical construction and pre-commissioning activities adhere to stringent project specifications, international codes, and best practices within the oil and gas industry.
- Provide technical guidance and quality awareness training to project teams and subcontractors, fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement and zero defects.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this demanding role, the ideal candidate will possess a blend of formal education, proven experience, and specific technical competencies in mechanical quality control.
Education & Certification
- A minimum of a Graduation/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field from an accredited institution.
- Professional certifications such as CSWIP, BGAS, ASNT NDT Level II, or lead auditor certification in ISO 9001 are highly desirable and will be a significant advantage.
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- A solid 5-10 yearsQA-QC Engineer role, with a proven track record within the Oil & Gas industry, specifically in refinery, petrochemical, or offshore projects.
- Deep, practical knowledge of international QA/QC standards and codes, including but not limited to ASME Section VIII, ASME
