Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As a QA-QC Inspector near me in Riyadh, your primary mission is to ensure all materials, equipment, and project execution phases adhere to the strictest quality parameters. Your day-to-day functions will be hands-on and integral to project success, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a rigorous adherence to established protocols.

  • Implement and maintain robust quality assurance and quality control systems in accordance with ISO 9001, API, and ASME standards.
  • Conduct rigorous inspections at various stages of the production and construction process, including incoming materials, in-process fabrication, and final installation.
  • Perform visual inspections (VT), dimensional checks, and review material certifications for compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate and witness various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation packages (QDPs) for all assigned projects.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conforming products or processes; initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness.
  • Liaise directly with clients, third-party inspection agencies, and certification bodies to facilitate inspections and resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures submitted by contractors.
  • Monitor welding procedures, welder qualifications, and the overall welding quality management system.
  • Ensure all inspection and measuring equipment is calibrated and within its valid calibration date.
  • Promote a pervasive culture of safety and quality among all project personnel and subcontractors.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Requirements

To be considered for this senior Quality Assurance role, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in quality management within the hydrocarbon or petrochemical sectors. The following qualifications and competencies are essential for success in this position.

Essential Education & Certification

  • A minimum of a Graduation/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Professional certifications are highly desirable (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, BGAS Grade 2/3, NACE Level 2, ASNT NDT Level II in UT, RT, PT, MT).
  • Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems is a significant advantage.

Mandatory Professional Experience

  • A solid 5-10 Years of hands-on experience as a QA-QC Inspector or a similar quality control role, specifically within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Demonstrable experience working on upstream, midstream, or downstream projects (e.g., pipelines, pressure vessels, refinery turnarounds, offshore platforms).
  • Extensive practical knowledge of international codes and standards including ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API 510, API 570, API 653, and ANSI standards.

Required Technical & Soft Skills

  • Expert-level knowledge and application of QA/QC Standards and quality management principles.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a zero-compromise approach to quality and safety.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to authoritatively articulate quality requirements and concerns to diverse teams.
  • High proficiency in using standard MS Office applications and experience with quality management system software.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial but not mandatory.
