QA/QC Inspector & Supervisor – PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled QA/QC Inspector & Supervisor specializing in Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) to join our Quality Control team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards, performing inspections, and supervising PWHT processes in the Oil & Gas sector. If you have a strong background in welding inspection, heat treatment procedures, and quality assurance, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of welding and PWHT processes to ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, API, AWS, etc.).
• Supervise and monitor Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) operations, including temperature control, heating rates, and cooling cycles.
• Review and approve welding procedures, heat treatment specifications, and inspection reports.
• Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) evaluations, including ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing.
• Ensure all quality control documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including Material Test Reports (MTRs) and weld maps.
• Identify and report defects, non-conformities, and deviations from project specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, welders, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field.
• Certification in NDT (Level II or higher) is preferred.
• ASNT, CSWIP, or AWS-CWI certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ASME Section IX, and API 1104 standards.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in interpreting welding procedures, PQRs, and WPS documentation.
• Strong understanding of PWHT techniques, including induction heating and furnace treatment.
• Experience with quality control software and inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, hardness testers).
• Familiarity with metallurgical testing and material properties.

Soft Skills

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
• Effective communication for liaising with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with strict deadlines.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves:

• Working on-site at Oil & Gas facilities, refineries, or fabrication yards.
• Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and industrial hazards.
• Standing, bending, and lifting heavy equipment as needed.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
