This pivotal role within our Quality Control department demands a professional with 5-10 years of hands-on experience in implementing and overseeing stringent QA/QC standards for mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in ensuring the highest levels of quality and compliance in challenging Oil & Gas projects.

This position is based in the Al-Naseem neighborhood and offers a competitive compensation package of 21-28 LPA for the right candidate who can demonstrate exceptional leadership in quality control and mechanical integrity assurance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

As our QC Mechanical Supervisor, you will be entrusted with critical oversight functions that directly impact project quality and compliance. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control procedures and processes for mechanical systems and equipment
  • Lead and supervise a team of QC inspectors, providing technical guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical installations, equipment, and components to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards
  • Review and approve material certifications, inspection reports, and quality documentation for mechanical components
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure all mechanical quality control activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to management highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement
  • Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and certification authorities during quality audits and inspections
  • Maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, inspections, and tests conducted on mechanical systems
  • Monitor and verify the calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment used by the QC team
  • Participate in risk assessment activities and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies for quality-related risks

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Education

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Additional certifications in quality management (e.g., ASQ, CQI, IRCA) are highly desirable
  • Certifications in relevant NDT methods and welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS) are advantageous

Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in quality control roles within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership position managing QC teams
  • Extensive knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM)
  • Demonstrated experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and audit processes
  • Hands-on experience with various inspection techniques and non-destructive testing methods
  • Previous experience working on major Oil & Gas projects in the Middle East region, particularly Saudi Arabia

Technical Skills & Competencies

The role requires expertise in:

  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical equipment and systems used in Oil & Gas facilities
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, and inspection techniques
  • Familiarity with pressure vessel, piping, and pipeline codes and standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor and develop team members
