Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As a QC Welding Inspector at Hamdan Global, you will be the cornerstone of our quality assurance processes, directly impacting the safety and success of our operations. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining the superior standards we are known for.

  • Perform thorough visual inspections (VT) of welds on pipes, pressure vessels, and structural components to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercut.
  • Interpret and enforce compliance with welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and project specifications.
  • Oversee and validate various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation for all welding activities.
  • Verify welder qualifications and ensure all personnel adhere to approved welding procedures and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, production managers, and other inspectors to promptly address and resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Monitor welding processes to ensure they meet international codes and standards such as ASME, API, AWS, and client-specific requirements.
  • Conduct audits of welding consumables, storage, and handling to prevent contamination and ensure material traceability.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • A Graduation/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • Professional certifications such as CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), or ASNT NDT Level II in relevant methods are highly preferred and will be given significant weight.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • A minimum of 5-10 Years of direct experience as a Welding Inspector within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or heavy fabrication industry.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on expertise in applying and auditing QA/QC Standards and international codes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and welding symbols.
  • Strong practical knowledge of material types, welding metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and weld repair procedures.
