About the Role

We are seeking a skilled QCI – Mechanical (Quality Control Inspector – Mechanical) professional to join our dynamic team in Muscat, Oman. This full-time position within the Oil & Gas industry requires a candidate with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in quality control and inspection. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of mechanical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities

As a QCI – Mechanical, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing detailed inspections of mechanical equipment, pipelines, and structural components to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing.
  • Reviewing and approving mechanical drawings, designs, and material certifications.
  • Ensuring all mechanical installations adhere to safety and quality guidelines.
  • Documenting inspection results, preparing reports, and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
  • Collaborating with project engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Monitoring weld procedures and ensuring welder qualifications are up to date.
  • Supporting the maintenance and calibration of inspection tools and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Education

  • Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical inspection within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
  • Hands-on experience with NDT techniques and inspection tools.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, etc.).
  • Ability to use inspection software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
