About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical / Civil) to join our dynamic engineering team at ABU DHABI OIL & GAS COMPANY. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with a background in estimation and a keen interest in the oil & gas or manufacturing industry. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in cost estimation, contract management, and financial oversight for mechanical and civil engineering projects.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or professionals with up to one year of experience to grow their careers in a leading industry player.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical and civil engineering projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to assess cost factors.
- Monitor and control project expenses to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Assist in contract preparation, review, and negotiation.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to align financial plans with project goals.
- Conduct site visits to verify measurements, materials, and labor costs.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and project expenditures.
- Support procurement activities by evaluating supplier quotes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, pricing, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 0-1 year of experience in quantity surveying, estimation, or cost control (freshers may apply).
- Exposure to oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing sectors is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in cost estimation techniques and software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, industry-specific tools).
- Basic understanding of mechanical and civil engineering principles.
- Familiarity with contract management and procurement processes.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
